| Overview |
For 2011, the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class receives several upgrades, including a standard media interface, and multi-contour seats and Keyless Go to the CL63 model. The COMAND APS hard-drive navigation system is considerably updated, with Bluetooth built into the head unit to eliminate the adapter, an SD card slot in place of the previous PCMCIA interface, 4-GB music storage, and a new music search function for MP3 files. The phone keypad can now be used to directly input letters and numbers for the navigation system, the voice system better understands command, an additional tweeter is added to the front centre channel speaker, and HD Radio is now available in conjunction with Sirius satellite radio, although coverage is very limited in Canada. Prices are unchanged from 2009.
The CL-Class comes in four models: the CL550 4Matic, with 5.5-litre V8, seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive; the CL600, with 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 and five-speed automatic; the CL63 AMG, with 6.2-litre V8 and seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic; and the CL65 AMG, with 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 and five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission.
Features on the CL550 4Matic include 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, adaptive brake system with hill start assist, navigation system, voice control, Harman/Kardon Logic7 surround sound system, Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, active bi-xenon headlamps with washers and cornering lights, electronic parking brake with convenience release function, power-assisted soft-close trunk, power-folding heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer system, 14-way power-adjustable multi-contour heated seats with three-position memory and Passion leather upholstery, high-gloss Burl Walnut trim, heated wood and leather steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted shifter buttons, power sunroof, auto-dimming rearview and driver's side mirror, ambient lighting, pneumatic rear head restraints, power tilt and telescopic steering column, auto up/down windows, power rear sunshade, Smart Key, Parktronic parking assist, garage door opener, continuously variable door hold system, cruise control, TeleAid emergency calling, tire pressure monitoring system, and rearview camera.
The CL63 AMG builds on the CL550 and adds 20-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel-mounted shifter paddles, Active Body Control, heated and cooled Drive-Dynamic multi-contour seats with massage function, Alcantara headliner, and Keyless Go (it does not include the heated wood and leather steering wheel).
The CL600 builds on the CL550 4Matic and adds Active Body Control, heated and cooled Drive-Dynamic multi-contour seats with massage function, exclusive Passion leather upholstery, Poplar wood trim, Alcantara headliner, Keyless Go, advanced parking guidance, adaptive cruise control, Night View Assist, and blind spot monitoring system.
The CL65 AMG builds on the CL63 AMG and adds exclusive Passion leather upholstery, heated wood and leather steering wheel, advanced parking guidance, adaptive cruise control, Night View Assist, and blind spot monitoring system.
