| Overview |
For 2012, changes to the Dodge Challenger are minor. All models receive a Uconnect hands-free system and can be optioned with a performance audio package. Paddle shifters are now available. The SRT8 adds a new adaptive damping system with selectable suspension tuning.
The Dodge Challenger is available with a choice of three engines: a 3.6-litre V6 in the SXT and SXT Plus; a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 in the R/T and R/T Classic; and 6.4-litre V8 in the SRT8 392. All use a five-speed automatic transmission, which can be optioned to a six-speed manual transmission in the R/T and SRT8.
Features on the SXT include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth seats, six-way power driver’s seat, Uconnect hands-free phone, hill start assist, keyless entry with proximity key, dual exhaust with bright tips, bright fuel filler door, power mirrors, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, Media Centre 130 with six speakers and auxiliary jack, and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The SXT Plus adds Nappa leather-faced seats, fog lamps, automatic headlamps, heated seats, Boston Acoustic speakers, Sirius satellite radio, and illuminated vanity mirrors.
The R/T adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, heated mirrors, performance steering and suspension, rear spoiler and mini-carbon accents.
The R/T Classic adds 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, xenon headlamps, dual R/T side stripes, functional hood scoop and script badge.
The SRT8 adds 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, Nappa leather-faced seats with perforated suede inserts, two-mode active damping system, Media Centre 430 with 6.5-inch touch screen, anti-spin rear differential, bright pedals, heated steering wheel, dual black centre stripes, heavy-duty cooling, engine oil cooler, rear park assist, garage door opener, exterior temperature gauge, compass, and security alarm.
