| Overview |
For 2012, the Dodge Caliber simplifies its model lineup and adds some extra features. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder introduced in 2011 is no longer available. Electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes, previously optional on the base models, are now standard. The CVT calibration has been improved for better launch acceleration, smoother deceleration, improved pedal response and reduced engine noise.
A new available SXT Sport Plus package adds 18-inch chrome-clad wheels, sport suspension, body-colour fascias and grille, four-wheel disc brakes, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, Sirius satellite radio, bright exhaust tip and black-out tape.
New available options for the SXT include a Sirius Satellite Radio Group that also includes Uconnect hands-free communication, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, auto-dimming rearview mirror and USB port; and a Driver Convenience Group that adds Uconnect, auto-dimming rearview mirror, USB port, garage door opener, electric vehicle information centre and tire pressure monitoring system.
The Caliber uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with five-speed manual or optional CVT. Trim levels are the SE and SXT.
Features on the SE include 15-inch steel wheels, cloth seats, 60/40 folding rear seat, tire pressure warning lamp, body-colour grille and fascias, bright interior accents, rear spoiler, CD/MP3 stereo with four speakers, illuminated cupholders, manual mirrors, tilt steering column, outside temperature display and engine block heater.
The SXT adds 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, Chill Zone storage, heated seats, heated mirrors, power windows, bright grille, chrome body mouldings, body-colour door handles, fold-flat front passenger seat, reclining rear seat, fog lamps, driver’s seat height adjustment, keyless entry, illuminated entry, removable and rechargeable flashlight, soft tonneau cover, touring suspension, firm-feel power steering and 115-volt power outlet.
