| Overview |
Redesigned for 2011, the Audi A8 adds the W12 engine for 2012 as a custom order on the long-wheelbase model. The A8 and A8L add side assist and pre-sense rear warning systems, while the Premium models further add power-assisted door closure and power sunshades.
The A8 and A8L (long-wheelbase) models use a direct-injection 4.2-litre V8 with eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. The long-wheelbase can also be ordered with a 6.3-litre W12 engine with eight-speed automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive.
Features on the A8 include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eighteen-way power heated leather seats with memory, heated rear seats, automatic adaptive air suspension, tire pressure monitoring system, driver and passenger knee airbags, rear seat airbags, anti-theft alarm, garage door opener, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, cruise control, Advanced Key with pushbutton start, Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, self-levelling adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with washers, LED taillights and daytime running lights, fog lamps, heated auto-dimming and power-folding mirrors with reverse tip-down, power sunroof, aluminum sill plates, four-spoke multifunction heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with power tilt and telescopic column, footwell lighting, power rear sunshade, auto-dimming rearview mirror, ski sack, CD/MP3 stereo, Sirius satellite radio, iPod interface, navigation system, electroluminescent gauges, side and rear sensing systems, and LCD driver information centre.
The A8 Premium adds 19-inch alloy wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, leather door and centre console armrests, power trunk lid, power-close doors, power side and rear sunshades, and six-CD/DVD changer.
The A8L builds on the A8 and adds power-assisted soft-closing doors and rear window sunshades.
The A8L Premium builds on the A8 Premium and adds a panoramic sunroof.
The A8L W12 builds on the Premium and adds LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, night vision assist, Valcona leather seats, and Bang & Olufsen sound system.
